Liconsa to Invest 120 Million Pesos in State-of-the-Art Dairy Plant in Campeche

The Mexican government has announced a substantial investment in the dairy sector with plans to inject 120 million pesos into the Liconsa Dairy Plant located in Campeche. Slated for completion in 2026, this investment aims to transform the facility into one of the most modern dairy plants globally.
This initiative is part of a larger national strategy to bolster the dairy and livestock industries across the region. The plant, situated in the Parque Industrial Bicentenario in San Francisco de Campeche, will soon be up for international bidding to equip it with cutting-edge technology. Abid Moo Cruz, the state manager of Liconsa in Campeche, highlighted the plant's modernization as a key step in enhancing national food security.
The project seeks to significantly boost local economic development, with support from regional governors Layda Sansores San Román (Campeche), Mara Lezama Espinosa (Quintana Roo), and Joaquín Díaz Mena (Yucatán). Additionally, the launch of the “Made in Mexico” brand is part of this economic revitalization effort.
The new facility is expected to double milk production and annually generate 55 million additional liters, bringing the total to 100 million liters. This augmentation will not only provide more resources for local and national supply chains but also strengthen the nation's food security.
