As of the first 11 months of 2024, ice cream production in Kazakhstan decreased by only 2.1%, reaching 49.3 thousand tonnes, despite concerns of a temporary decline following the record-breaking growth in 2023. This was reported by DairyNews.today, citing Dmitry Dokin, Chairman of the Board of Directors at "Shin-Line."
Kazakhstan's Ice Cream Market Shows Stability After Record Growth

In 2023, the annual production growth of ice cream in Kazakhstan reached 25.6%, with a total of 51.6 thousand tonnes produced. The total market capacity of ice cream in Kazakhstan in 2023 amounted to 56.3 thousand tonnes, equating to 2.98 kg per capita annually—23% higher than in 2022.

“This growth dynamic was both encouraging for producers and concerning, as such rapid growth could potentially lead to a temporary decline in 2024. The 2024 season began unevenly: in some months production increased, while in others it fell—affected by weather conditions and inventory levels of local producers," commented Dmitry Dokin.

In monetary terms, sales adjusted for inflation remained stable, decreasing slightly from 67.07 billion tenge to 67.02 billion tenge.
