Kazakhstan and Germany discussed agricultural insurance and water resources management
"The flood situation in Kazakhstan has brought water resources management to the fore. The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan emphasizes the importance of cooperation with the EU countries in the field of water management and agriculture. I was given the opportunity to talk about Germany's role during the meeting of Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov with diplomats and representatives of EU countries in Astana on April 18. Approaches to technology and knowledge transfer were discussed. German companies, scientific institutions, as well as bilateral cooperation projects are actively involved in the implementation of effective water management processes in agriculture and have achieved visible positive results that clearly demonstrate the successful use of innovative technologies. It is important to make innovations accessible to farmers. On the one hand, to provide information about this, and on the other hand, to provide financial support," Olga Hunger said in her social networks.

The expert recalls that Germany, where the world's largest agricultural exhibitions such as AGRITECHNICA and EuroTier are held, offers Kazakhstani farmers the opportunity to get acquainted with the latest innovative developments in this field.

In her opinion, the transfer of transport routes to the route through the Caspian Sea not only prolongs the delivery time of German equipment, but also increases costs. "In this context, it is important that subsidies are maintained in full and paid to farmers as early as possible," Olga Hunger emphasizes.

"The German-Kazakh agricultural policy dialogue plays an important role in developing the fundamentals of agricultural policy. Financing and insurance of agriculture, as well as the legal framework for water resources management, are currently the most popular topics determining the work of projects. A new field of activity is the exchange of views with the Kazakh side on the establishment of a Regional Central Asian Center for Sustainable Agriculture in Kazakhstan, which was proposed by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at his last meeting with Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Germany," the expert added.
