Fonterra Dairy Woman of the Year Announced

Katrina Roberts, a dedicated herd health veterinarian based in Waikato, has been honored with the prestigious title of Fonterra Dairy Woman of the Year for her unwavering commitment and advocacy within the dairy industry.

The announcement was made during a gala dinner at the Dairy Women’s Network 2024 Conference themed "Enhance, Elevate, Evolve" in New Plymouth.
Roberts, who works with Anexa Veterinary Services, has been instrumental in various DairyNZ programs' redevelopment over the past two decades, including InCalf, FeedRight, and body condition score accreditation. Her expertise is widely sought after by farmers and veterinarians nationwide, both for her research and project management skills and as a keynote speaker.
In addition to her professional achievements, Roberts is deeply involved in community initiatives, volunteering with organizations such as Cambridge Riding for the Disabled and actively participating in various sports and educational activities.
Donna Smit, a DWN Trustee, praised Roberts for setting high standards in the industry and embodying the values of the Dairy Women’s Network. Smit emphasized Roberts' significant contributions to the agricultural sector through governance, advocacy, and leadership.
Fonterra CEO Miles Hurrell commended Roberts for her tireless advocacy for farmers and her dedication to upholding evidence-based standards. He highlighted her role in fostering animal well-being and driving positive change within the dairy industry.
Roberts will be awarded a scholarship to participate in the Kellogg Rural Leadership Programme, providing her with opportunities for further growth, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing within the industry.
