Collaboration Agreement Between INDAP and SAG to Strengthen Support for Agricultural Producers in La Araucanía

A new collaboration agreement between INDAP and SAG promises to bolster support for agricultural producers in the La Araucanía region of Chile. This strategic partnership seeks to enhance both institutions' technical teams and involve local farmers in official programs.
At a signing ceremony held in Temuco, attended by the Seremi of Agriculture, and heads of regional offices of INDAP and SAG, the agreement was formalized. Ruth Arévalo Macías, Regional Director of SAG, emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to improve services for INDAP users, aligning with each service’s competencies.
The initiative aims to strengthen the technical capabilities of both organizations, optimize resources, and formalize agricultural activities. This will enable better preparation and response to sanitary or climatic emergencies via fast-tracked access to Ministry of Agriculture aid instruments.
Héctor Cumilaf Huentemil, Seremi of Agriculture, commended the directors for their leadership, noting that agriculture faces significant challenges that require improved cooperation and information sharing. The agreement, he argued, institutionalizes ongoing informal collaborations, supporting livestock identification efforts and emergency management.
This agreement marks a crucial step in ensuring better service delivery, enhancing regional agricultural competitiveness, and formalizing informal sectors by maintaining updated official records.
