Ball Corporation has teamed up with CavinKare to introduce a groundbreaking packaging solution in India's dairy sector: retort aluminium cans for milkshakes. This initiative marks a significant step in adapting to the rising demand for ready-to-drink (RTD) beverages and reflects a growing consumer preference for both convenience and sustainability.

The new packaging will be utilized for several of CavinKare’s popular milkshake flavors, including Badam, Gulkhand, Rajbog, and Rabri. Manish Joshi, Commercial Director at Ball Beverage Packaging Asia, highlighted the growth prospects within the dairy and dairy alternatives sector in India, which is expected to rise at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.1% by 2028. "Our focus on the RTD segment, bolstered by unique flavour offerings, aligns with the dynamic consumer preferences and the segment’s faster growth trajectory," Joshi explained.

Ball Corporation’s investment in the production capabilities for these specialized retort aluminium cans is a testament to their commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship. These cans are engineered to withstand the retort process, which is essential for maintaining the milkshakes' flavor, nutrients, and freshness.

Mallikeswaran KG, Business Head of the Beverages Division at CavinKare, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “We are thrilled to embark on this journey towards sustainable packaging options with Ball Corporation.
