Several Australian dairy processors, including Bega Cheese, Kyvalley Dairy Group, Bulla Dairy Foods, and Burra Foods, have disclosed their minimum milk prices for the upcoming season, reflecting the current economic pressures and market dynamics.
Bega Cheese set its milk price range from $7.90 to $8.20 per kg of milk solids (MS), indicating a cautious market approach. Similarly, Kyvalley Dairy Group has set a base price for conventional milk at 50 cents per litre, adapting to the evolving market conditions.
Bulla Dairy Foods announced a significant adjustment in its milk price from last year's $8.80-$9.60 per kg MS to $7.85-$8.65 per kg MS this season. Allan Hood, CEO of Bulla, cited unprecedented increases in input costs, shifts in consumer behavior, and intensified competition from imported dairy products as key factors influencing the new pricing strategy.
