Amp Americas Achieves Milestone, Reduces Over 2 Million Metric Tons of CO2 Equivalent Emissions
Partnering with dairy farmers across the U.S., Amp Americas focuses on reducing methane emissions, a greenhouse gas that is 84 times more potent than carbon dioxide over a 20-year period. The company's RNG projects not only capture methane from dairy farms but also help farmers manage dairy waste more efficiently, producing digestate that can be used as fertilizer.
"For 12 years, we've worked alongside farmers to make a real, quantifiable impact on greenhouse gas emissions while improving air quality in rural communities," said Grant Zimmerman, CEO of Amp Americas. He emphasized that this milestone highlights the unique and scalable solution RNG provides for tackling methane emissions.
Amp Americas currently operates 17 RNG projects across Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, Idaho, and Kansas. These initiatives have created well-paying jobs, enhanced air quality, and reduced risks to water quality in rural communities. By the end of 2024, Amp's projects are expected to prevent 700,000 metric tons of CO2e emissions annually, equating to the removal of 166,601 cars from the road for one year.
