Wilmar International's subsidiary, Delta Wilmar Ukraine, faced significant damage as its tank terminal facility in Ukraine was hit by a Russian missile during the recent conflict. The extent of the damage is yet to be assessed.
According to a regulatory filing made on Sunday, Wilmar International, a key constituent of the Straits Times Index, disclosed that the missile strike occurred on Friday, targeting the Black Sea Ukrainian port of Pivdennyi. This port houses the facility, an 80% owned subsidiary of Wilmar International.
Thankfully, there have been no reported casualties resulting from the attack. Wilmar International has stated that a thorough assessment of the damage will be conducted once the fire at the facility is extinguished.
