China is inviting dairy companies from around the world, including those from the United States, to expand their operations in the Chinese market, Vice Minister of Commerce Wang Shouwen announced on Tuesday.
Wang made these remarks during a meeting with U.S. Dairy Export Council President Krysta Harden, according to a statement from the Ministry of Commerce.
The meeting follows recent announcements by the ministry regarding potential provisional anti-dumping measures on pork imports from the European Union, part of an ongoing investigation that started on June 17.
China has launched a probe into EU pork and its by-products, primarily targeting Spain, the Netherlands, and Denmark. This move comes after the EU imposed anti-subsidy duties on Chinese-manufactured electric vehicles.
In Tuesday's statement, the Ministry of Commerce noted that China and the U.S. discussed various aspects of economic and trade relations, with a focus on cooperation in dairy products and other agricultural sectors.
