Ukraine Embraces European Certification Platform to Streamline Agricultural Product Exports

Commencing January 15, 2024, Ukraine is set to transition to the European Commission's TRACES NT online platform for the certification and facilitation of agricultural product exports, aiming to simplify formalities for exporting and transiting food products to the EU across national borders.

As reported by the State Food and Consumer Service, the adoption of the TRACES NT platform is the outcome of extensive collaboration between Ukraine's State Food and Consumer Service and the Directorate General of the European Commission on health and food safety. The implementation of this platform marks a significant stride in aligning Ukraine's legislation and implementation mechanisms with European standards.
The range of food products subject to certification using TRACES NT is determined by the adapted certificate forms integrated into the system. Currently, the approved forms include certificates for:
The list of certificate forms integrated into TRACES NT will be periodically updated during the adaptation and implementation process. The move underscores Ukraine's commitment to harmonizing its agricultural export procedures with European standards, facilitating smoother trade and enhancing cooperation between the two regions.

- Official import of eggs for human consumption to the European Union.
- Official import of egg products for human consumption to the European Union.
- Official import of dairy products for human consumption, undergoing specific processing to reduce risks other than pasteurization (MODEL DAIRY-PRODUCTS-ST).
- Official import of honey and other bee products for human consumption to the European Union.
- Official import of semi-finished meat products for human consumption (model MP-PREP) to the European Union.
- Official animal health certificate for importing live fish, live crustaceans, and related animal products for human consumption (fish-CRUST-HC sample) to the European Union.
- Official import of fresh poultry meat for human consumption, excluding minced and mechanically deboned meat, except for certain keelless varieties (MODEL POU).
