The gross agricultural output of the Republic of Kazakhstan reached 1.6 trillion tenge in the first half of 2024. This growth is attributed to a 3.5% increase in livestock production and a 3% increase in crop production. Milk production in Kazakhstan increased by 4.8%, reaching 1.7 million tons. Additionally, in the first half of the year, cheese and cottage cheese production rose by 16.8%, and fermented dairy products by 5.6%.
Meat production in live weight grew by 4.1%, reaching 878.7 thousand tons.
Production of chicken eggs increased by 0.3% to 2.1 billion units.
Among the regions, the highest growth rates were observed in Turkestan, Kostanay, Almaty, Pavlodar, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda, and Atyrau regions. It was reported that investments in fixed assets in food production in Kazakhstan increased by 5.4%, reaching 68.7 billion tenge compared to the same period last year.
Work has been completed to align livestock statistics with the real situation, and similar efforts are ongoing in crop production, as reminded in the review. As a result of joint work with the National Statistics Bureau and regional akimats, 2 million heads of livestock and 3 million tons of milk were written off. It is noted that this relevant data will improve the quality of planning and decision-making in regulating the domestic market.
