Valeriy Tkachev, Deputy Director of the Department of Transportation Technology and Commercial Operations at JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia", reported a notable surge in grain car shipments to the ports of Greater Odesa.
Over the past week, the number of grain cars heading to these ports rose by 685 units, reaching a total of 3,907.
This increase has also impacted the average daily activities at the ports. Specifically, the daily volume of grain unloading at the ports has risen by 21 cars, with the current average standing at 737 units per day. Additionally, the average daily loading of grain cars on the network directed towards these ports has climbed to 836 units, marking an increase of 32 cars per day.
Conversely, the port of Izmail has seen a decrease in the accumulation of grain cars, with a reduction of 20 units. Currently, 400 grain cars are en route to this location. Despite this decrease, the average daily unloading rate at the port of Izmail has increased by eight cars per day, now totaling 40 units.
These statistics underline the dynamic changes in grain transportation logistics in the region, reflecting adjustments in both supply chain efficiency and port operation capacities.
