Elslande outlined the company’s strategy to forge stronger ties with Chinese consumers by introducing France's distinguished dairy products and culinary culture. "This anniversary provides a significant platform for us to enhance our corporate persona and strengthen relationships with Chinese customers and stakeholders," he stated.

The company plans to tailor its high-quality offerings to meet the specific needs of the Chinese market, enhancing alignment with local consumer preferences. "We will adjust our product range based on feedback from our local teams to better cater to the unique tastes and demands of our consumers here," Elslande added.

With China being a major player in the global dairy market, consuming approximately 45 billion liters of milk annually, Savencia has prioritized innovation and the transfer of advanced food industry knowledge and technology since its market entry in 1996.

A recent innovation highlighted by Elslande is the launch of the MySinodis digital platform during the Bakery China 2024 exhibition in Shanghai. Developed in collaboration with Sinodis, Savencia's local subsidiary, this platform revolutionizes how customers access and learn about Savencia's products. "MySinodis allows easy ordering via smartphones, offering a comprehensive product portfolio and on-demand professional training, which is crucial for strengthening our market position in Asia-Pacific, especially in China," he explained.

Elslande also noted the strategic importance of digital capabilities in China, stating, "China's advanced digital ecosystem presents an ideal launchpad for innovations that we can potentially scale globally."

In addition to digital advancements, Denis Vergneau, General Manager of Sinodis, shared insights into local consumer trends impacting the bakery sector. "There is a growing preference for health-conscious food options among Chinese consumers, particularly for pastries and desserts with reduced sugar and fat content," Vergneau observed. He added that economic challenges and lifestyle pressures are driving a higher demand for desserts, prompting the industry to focus on clean-label ingredients and healthier alternatives.

"Anticipating and adapting to consumer trends is crucial, and we are committed to working closely with our brands to ensure our products meet these evolving preferences," Vergneau concluded, emphasizing the company’s dedication to innovation and customer satisfaction in the Chinese market.
