Rising Dairy Prices in Chile: September IPC Highlights

In its latest report, Fedeleche disclosed that dairy products in Chile experienced notable price increases during September 2025. These changes contributed to an overall increase in the food Consumer Price Index (CPI). The dairy, plant-based beverages, and eggs division recorded a monthly variation of +0.7%, aligning with the 1.0% increase in the broader food category for that month.
Among the specific products, powdered milk saw the most significant rise, climbing by 5.7% (6.8% over the year and 4.7% over twelve months). Yogurt prices increased by 2.2%, butter by 1.0%, and cheese by 0.3%. In contrast, liquid milk prices fell by 0.6% during the same period, and dairy desserts decreased by 0.1%.
These figures indicate disparate inflationary pressures within the dairy sector, with processed products experiencing greater price hikes while fluid milk experiences adjustments. Fedeleche emphasizes the importance of monitoring these shifts to understand the consumer cost implications and their impact on the sector's competitiveness.
