Rajasthan Advances Dairy Sector with Rs 1,000 Crore Corpus Fund Initiative

The state of Rajasthan, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, has launched a significant initiative to boost the dairy sector by approving a corpus fund of Rs 1,000 crore. This effort is directed at increasing the milk processing capacity of the Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation (RCDF) to 7.5 million liters per day.

Currently, RCDF's production capacity for animal feed stands at 1,800 metric tonnes per day. With this new investment, the capacity is projected to rise to 2,550 metric tonnes per day. This expansion is part of a broader strategy to enhance the state's dairy infrastructure.

According to Shruti Bhardwaj, the Administrator and Managing Director of RCDF, the federation will contribute 10 percent of the corpus fund from its own profits. The district milk unions will match this contribution, also allocating 10 percent from their profits.

The initiative reflects a concerted effort to meet the growing demand for dairy products by improving production capabilities and ensuring a steady supply of animal feed. This move is expected to support both the local dairy industry and the livelihoods of those involved in dairy farming in Rajasthan.
