This divestment is part of Nestlé’s broader effort to streamline its portfolio and target industries poised for sustainable development.

The transaction, which was confirmed last week by Nestlé East & Southern Africa, highlights the company’s decision to offload its Cremora business while repositioning its Cremora Harare factory to produce alternative products. By selling the creamer division, Nestlé aims to sharpen its focus on core business areas that align with its strategic goals of innovation, sustainability, and market leadership in sectors such as plant-based nutrition and health science.

Lactalis SA’s acquisition of Cremora is expected to further strengthen its presence in the dairy and creamer markets, adding to its expanding global footprint. Meanwhile, Nestlé continues to pursue opportunities that offer higher growth potential, consistent with its vision of transforming its portfolio to meet evolving consumer preferences.
