Nestlé USA has opened a new beverage manufacturing plant and distribution center in Glendale, Arizona, U.S. The new plant will produce creamers for several popular Nestlé brands, including Coffee Mate, Natural Bliss and Starbucks, and has the ability to expand production to other beverages in the future, the company said.

Nestlé has invested more than $675 million in its Glendale facility.
“Coffee culture is thriving in the U.S. as consumers seek more ways to customize and experiment with their coffee at home. As the undisputed leader in chilled creamers, we are committed to meeting these consumer needs to drive growth in our business and category. This new facility was built with the flexibility needed to support innovation and will play a key role in helping us meet the needs of our customers and consumers now and in the future,” said Daniel Jung, President of Nestlé USA’s Coffee and Beverages Division. “We are grateful for the warm welcome we have received from the City of Glendale and the state of Arizona, and we look forward to growing with this thriving community.”
The new site will be Nestlé USA’s 20th food and beverage manufacturing facility and is the latest in a series of more than $3 billion in investments by the company to expand its U.S. manufacturing capacity over the past several years. The 630,000-square-foot plant offers the flexibility to change production based on changing consumer needs, trends, and even seasonality. Its opening creates 300 jobs in the Glendale community and brings Nestlé closer to its West Coast retail customers.
The plant is equipped with water management tools that allow up to 75% of treated process water to be recycled and reused, with the goal of continually increasing recycling and reuse capabilities. To further this impact on the plant and community, Nestlé is partnering with students and researchers from Arizona State University to continue exploring innovative water management technologies and waste stream optimization.
In addition, the plant produces recyclable creamer bottles made from food-grade recycled plastic and produces zero landfill waste, meaning it recycles, composts, or recovers energy from waste that would otherwise go to landfill. The plant also uses renewable electricity to help reduce carbon emissions.
As part of its mission to unlock the power of food to improve the quality of life for all people today and for generations to come, Nestlé is also announcing a $100,000 donation to the St. Mary's Food Bank. The donation will provide enough food for 500,000 meals and support St. Mary's work to distribute free food to millions of people, as well as provide specialized job training for those facing employment challenges throughout Arizona.
The company is already involved in the Glendale community, volunteering with local organizations including The Mission Continues, and cultivating the next generation of manufacturing professionals by inviting local high school students to the facility to learn about career opportunities in manufacturing, the company notes.
