Nebraska's Dairy Boom: New $165M Plant Opens, 75 Jobs Added

Nebraska is celebrating a significant milestone in its dairy sector with the official opening of a state-of-the-art dairy processing plant in Seward. Governor Jim Pillen marked the occasion on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, with a symbolic toast, underscoring the state’s commitment to fostering agricultural growth. This new facility, developed by Dari Processing of Rising City, represents the company’s inaugural major venture into dairy processing and stands as Nebraska’s sixth such plant, signaling robust expansion in the region.
The newly inaugurated plant represents a substantial investment of $165 million. Crucially, this development is set to create 75 new jobs, providing a significant boost to the local economy and expanding Nebraska’s dairy workforce. Such investments highlight regional growth opportunities and the continuous evolution of dairy production capabilities in key agricultural states.
Once fully operational, the 236,000 square-foot facility is projected to process an impressive 1.8 million pounds of milk daily. This capacity positions the plant as a major player in regional milk processing, contributing significantly to the overall dairy supply chain. The construction of this expansive facility was completed over an 18-month period.
Governor Pillen welcomed the investment made by Dari Processing, recognizing the importance of supporting family-owned businesses within the state. His remarks emphasized the crucial role of fostering such enterprises for Nebraska’s economic vitality and its continued leadership in agriculture.
