Müller to Increase Farm Gate Milk Price Amidst Industry Pressures

Müller has confirmed that from September 2025, farmers participating in its Advantage programme will receive a farm gate price of 42.75p per litre, representing a 0.5ppl increase. This scheme aims to enhance supply chain collaboration, improve herd health, and support sustainability. Richard Collins, head of agriculture at Müller Milk & Ingredients, commented on the price adjustment, emphasizing the commitment to providing farmers with stable and competitive pricing amidst the current financial pressures facing UK dairy producers.
Collins stated, "We are pleased to be in a position to increase our farm gate milk price for September, ensuring our supplying farmers continue to receive a stable and competitive price." He also noted that the company will "continue to monitor supply and demand."
The adjustment comes at a time of escalating input costs and market uncertainty for UK dairy producers. Industry groups have underscored the necessity for stable and transparent pricing models to aid farmers in investing in sustainability and business resilience.
In contrast, First Milk, another UK-based dairy processor, announced that its milk price for August will remain unchanged, maintaining a price of 44.85p per litre, inclusive of the member premium.
