Lakeland Dairies Distributes Over £75 Million to Armagh Dairy Farmers
Lakeland Dairies, a prominent Irish co-operative, announced a substantial payment of over £75 million to dairy farm families in County Armagh for the year 2025. This payment reflects the co-operative’s commitment to supporting the local economy and rural communities. Overall, Lakeland Dairies distributed €1.05 billion to more than 3,000 farm families across 17 counties.
The co-operative's financial performance in 2025 was robust, with revenues reaching €1.93 billion and profits before tax amounting to €25.2 million. The co-operative processes locally produced milk into 240 different dairy products, which are exported to over 100 countries globally.
In 2025, a record volume of 2.14 billion litres of milk was supplied by dairy farmers to Lakeland Dairies. The Chairperson, Niall Matthews, emphasized the critical role of dairy farming in sustaining the economy of rural communities, highlighting the impact on local businesses and employment.
Group CEO Colin Kelly stated that despite a volatile market environment, Lakeland Dairies achieved strong returns by converting high-quality milk into value-added products. The co-operative model ensures that the value generated from dairy farming is retained locally, promoting balanced regional development and sustainable rural communities.
