Lactalis American Group announces an ambitious plan to expand its investment in Buffalo, boosting operations and employment.

Lactalis American Group is set to increase its physical investment in South Buffalo facilities by an additional $12 million through 2027, bringing the total investment to $123 million over seven years.
The company aims to enhance and modernize its operations to produce and market more cheese. The expansion includes the installation of large vats, an advanced cheese belt, and robotic systems to improve efficiency. This expansion is expected to result in 27 new full-time jobs and a request to double tax breaks to $2.16 million.
Lactalis will also invest $15 million in modernizing a facility in Walton, creating 20 new jobs. "New York will continue to work with businesses in the agri-food sectors," Gov. Kathy Hochul stated, highlighting the project's impact on job retention and regional dairy farming. The company's operations in Buffalo process 750 million pounds of raw milk annually, supporting local dairies and strengthening its market presence in the United States.
