Kazakhstan Receives First Shipment of German Breeding Cattle for Dairy Expansion

The first batch of German breeding cattle has arrived in Kazakhstan's Akmola Region, marking a significant step in the country's dairy industry expansion efforts. This initiative includes the construction of a 1,440-head dairy farm and a new milk processing facility. The project is spearheaded by Burabay Milk LLP, with contributions from the Agriculture Ministry, regional administration, private investors, and JSC KOKSHE.

The initial shipment comprised 165 Holstein heifers, transported via a special charter flight from Germany. In total, the company aims to import approximately 330 head of breeding cattle to establish a highly productive herd for the new farm. As of now, the animals are undergoing quarantine and adaptation procedures.

Over the next 30 days, veterinarians will conduct mandatory health screenings on the cattle, including tests for particularly dangerous diseases, to ensure their health and suitability for breeding. Future shipments of breeding cattle will be coordinated with regional and district veterinary services to maintain the health and productivity of the herd.
