Kazakhstan is ready to increase exports to Pakistan by $21.5 million
As Arman Shakkaliev noted, Pakistan is an important trading partner of Kazakhstan.
“Kazakhstan has great opportunities for exporting processed products with high added value. These are products of the petrochemical, metallurgical, food, chemical, engineering, pharmaceutical industries, as well as vehicles. In total, these are 40 processed goods worth $21.5 million,” said Arman Shakkaliev.
The Minister of Trade and Integration emphasized that the ports of Pakistan - Gwadar, Karachi, Qasim are of great interest to Kazakhstan both from the position of promoting exports of products to the markets of Pakistan and South Asia, and from the position of increasing the attractiveness of the transit potential of our countries in matters of access to the Persian Gulf markets and East Africa.“Today there is the possibility of mutual supplies by land routes through the territories of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan and using sea ports through the North-South corridor, the territory of Iran or through China. Another direction of transportation can pass through the Karakorum Highway through the territories of Kyrgyzstan, China and further to Pakistan," the message said.
According to the First Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs of Pakistan Kazim Niaz, Pakistan is ready to export seafood, construction materials, sports equipment, textiles, and agricultural products to Kazakhstan.
Kazym Niyaz invited Kazakh businesses to evaluate Pakistan's investment opportunities and noted his country's interest in foreign investment.
The parties also discussed the progress in agreeing on the draft Roadmap for trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Pakistan and agreed to sign it next year.
It should be noted that the meeting took place on the eve of the 12th meeting of the Kazakh-Pakistan joint intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation, which is scheduled to be held on December 21 in Astana. December 21 this year A round table is planned between the business circles of the two countries: it is expected that more than 40 Kazakh and Pakistani companies from various sectors of the economy will take part in this event.
Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Pakistan for January-October 2023 amounted to $38.7 million, the press service reports.
