Hiland Dairy Expands with New Facility in Tyler, Texas

Hiland Dairy has officially opened a new production facility in Tyler, Texas, which is set to increase its production capacity by more than four times. The plant features advanced equipment that will allow the company to produce dairy products five times faster than its current operations. The existing facility handles 24 million gallons annually, while the new facility is expected to produce over 100 million gallons each year.

This expansion will also generate 80 new jobs in the Tyler area. Barry Beaman, the general manager of Hiland Dairy’s Tyler plant, stated that the facility will serve schools, hospitals, and convenience stores, distributing fresh dairy products to multiple counties and cities.

Hiland Dairy, which already has a branch in Shreveport, Louisiana, is considering further expansion into Louisiana. The company operates additional plants in Arkansas and Oklahoma. According to Beaman, the new facility will enable the company to enter new communities in Texas and establish distribution centers.

The project has been in the works for nine years, marking the first time a full-service dairy company has opened in the area since 1978. An administrative building is also planned, which will consolidate employees and accommodate about 45 staff members.
