Gemak UK Commissions Groundbreaking Dairy Facility in Wales
Gemak UK has announced the successful commissioning of a state-of-the-art dairy facility in Wales, the largest turnkey installation by the company in the UK. This plant, with a capacity to process 600 tonnes of milk and whey concentrate daily, sets a new industry standard for efficiency and sustainability.
High Percentage of Total Solids
The facility introduces a continuous RO (HIRO) system capable of producing whey concentrate with 30% total solids, a first in the UK. This innovation enhances product quality, reduces energy consumption, and minimizes the carbon footprint.
Beyond Net Zero
The dairy plant exceeds its net zero water consumption goals with a “Net Zero Plus water” distinction, generating over 100,000 liters of clean water daily beyond internal needs. This represents a significant advancement in sustainable water management within the industry.
Redefining Industry Standards
Gemak’s focus on integrated solutions has allowed the facility to surpass key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operational efficiency and sustainability. The project highlights Gemak’s leadership in producing hygienic processing equipment and solutions for the dairy sector.
“This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication of our team and our valued partners: Tetra Pak Processing Equipment GmbH, Alfa Laval, Morson Projects, Grundfos, and Schneider Electric,” the company stated.
