Cooil's Dairy Ends Doorstep Milk Deliveries After 75 Years of Service

Cooil's Dairy, a longstanding family-run enterprise, has completed its final doorstep milk deliveries, marking the end of over 75 years of service to the Isle of Man community. The business, managed by Juan and Kirstie Hargraves, made the decision to cease retail deliveries following careful consideration and the need for significant investment to continue the service.

From this month, all milk produced by Cooil's Dairy will be supplied to the Isle of Man Creamery for processing, packaging, and distribution. This shift allows the family to concentrate more on their farming activities. Juan Hargraves expressed gratitude to the delivery team, acknowledging their hard work and reliability throughout the years.

Customers have been invited to return any remaining milk bottles to the dairy. The Hargraves shared heartfelt thanks to their customers, emphasizing the loyalty and support received over the decades. Some customers had been with Cooil's for over 50 years, illustrating the deep-rooted community ties.

Reflecting on their experiences, the Hargraves recounted memorable moments, including making friends and even catching criminals in the act. Despite the end of deliveries, Cooil's Dairy will continue to operate as a working farm.

The dairy's decision to focus on supplying the Isle of Man Creamery comes as part of an effort to streamline operations and adapt to changing market dynamics. This transition also highlights the ongoing collaboration within the local dairy industry, ensuring that fresh milk remains accessible to consumers on the Isle of Man.
