In a significant move for Paraguay's dairy sector, the Chortitzer Cooperative has begun processing all milk production from the Fernheim and Neuland cooperatives.

Since February, the dairy production from the Fernheim and Neuland Cooperatives has been processed by Chortitzer Cooperative at their Lácteos Trébol facility. This merger, approved by the National Competition Commission (Conacom) under Resolution D/AL No. 51/2025, is deemed compliant with Paraguay's Competition Defense Law No. 4956/2013, posing no significant obstacles to market competition or reinforcing any dominant positions.
The two cooperatives have transferred their brands, such as CO-OP, Tropicana, and Campella, along with their sanitary registrations, to Chortitzer. This strategic unification addresses Chortitzer's previous underutilized capacity and positions the cooperative to bolster Paraguay's dairy and industrial sectors. Florián Reimer, the general manager of Chortitzer, reported that the consolidation is expected to increase milk production by approximately 40,000 liters daily.
Chortitzer also plans to expand its export markets, with current exports including dairy products to Bolivia and powdered milk to other countries. The merger aims to diversify product offerings and stimulate international trade. Lácteos Trébol currently holds over 160 brands, encompassing a wide range of dairy products, such as yogurts, desserts, various milk products, butter, cream, chocolate milk, cheese, and dulce de leche.
