Burra Foods has implemented a $0.10/kgMS price increase, raising its milk price range to $8.10/kgMS - $8.60/kgMS for the financial year 2025, despite acknowledging tough seasonal conditions.
Burra Foods, in its recent announcement, has introduced a price increase of $0.10/kgMS for its Milk Supply Partners, effective for the fiscal year spanning from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025. This adjustment sets the new milk price range between $8.10/kgMS and $8.60/kgMS.
The price revision is seen as a response to a 20% rise in the Global Dairy Trade index since the beginning of the financial year, as noted by CEO Stewart Carson. While there is an observed increase in demand and pricing for fat products, the company admits that protein products have not performed as well.
Mr. Carson also acknowledged the challenging seasonal conditions affecting many supply partners. This change is aligned with similar actions taken by other medium-sized processors like Bulla and Union Dairy Company, which have raised prices by 20 cents, in addition to step-ups announced by larger players such as Fonterra, Bega, and Saputo.
