Alileche: A New Initiative for Affordable, Local Milk in Mexico

Alileche: Strengthening the Livestock Sector
The State Government of Aguascalientes, Mexico, has collaborated with companies Gilsa and Alilácteos to launch 'Alileche', a 100% local milk brand. This initiative intends to fortify the livestock sector while providing access to quality milk at a low cost.
Boost for Local Milk Consumption
Aguascalientes stands as one of Mexico's principal dairy basins, yet local consumption remains low. This initiative, as stated by the Secretary of Rural and Agribusiness Development, Isidoro Armendáriz, seeks to increase milk intake, particularly among children and adolescents.
Quality and Affordability
'Alileche' provides high-quality milk rich in proteins, minerals, vitamins A and B, and calcium, priced at 15 pesos per liter. The milk is ultrapasteurized, ensuring a three-month shelf life without refrigeration, contrasting the 30 pesos price for similar quality brands.
Economic Stability for Producers
The program assures a minimum price of 10 pesos per liter for producers, offering economic stability amid market fluctuations. This arrangement allows over 100,000 families weekly access to milk.
Distribution Channels
The distribution will take place via Casas del Bien Común, municipal delegations, and the Tarjeta Soluciones program, targeting vulnerable families with no purchase restrictions.
