In a significant development for Azerbaijan’s agricultural sector, Agro Dairy has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE). The formal agreement, announced at a press conference held at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Samukh, marked the launch of a collaborative effort to advance agricultural education and professional training in the region.
Key attendees included Tamás Torma, Hungary’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan; Professor Csaba Gyuricza, Rector of MATE; Ramil Mammadov, Executive Director for Crop Production at Agro Dairy; and Kristof Hartig, Adviser to the Chief Executive Officer. During the press conference, Professor Gyuricza introduced the latest phase of the "MATE Global Azerbaijan" initiative, which builds on the strategic cooperation established between MATE and Agro Dairy earlier in 2023.
Under this partnership, the fourth quarter of 2024 will see the launch of short-term courses and vocational training at the MATE Global Campus. These training programs will provide specialized education in key areas such as precision agriculture, technical research, and water management, aiming to cultivate a new generation of skilled professionals equipped to drive advancements in Azerbaijan’s agricultural sector.
The Hungarian delegation also took the opportunity to visit Agro Dairy’s fields in Samukh, where they met with Firdovsi Aliyev, Head of the Samukh District Executive Power. During the visit, the delegation reviewed Agro Dairy’s innovative farming techniques and exchanged expertise on best practices in modern agriculture.
In addition to their engagements in Samukh, the delegation conducted official meetings with the Ganja City Executive Power, the Azerbaijan Technological University, and the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University. These discussions focused on exploring further opportunities for collaboration in agricultural research, technology, and education.
The partnership between Agro Dairy and MATE underscores a shared commitment to fostering agricultural innovation and professional growth in Azerbaijan, reflecting both organizations' strategic goals to support sustainable development in the region.
