80% of Belarusian Milk Produced at 1,700 Modern Dairy Complexes - Ivan Smilhin

According to him, the concentration of production at large, technologically equipped facilities allows the industry to maintain stability, increase exports, and improve efficiency. In 2025, Belarus achieved a record $10 billion in food exports, with dairy products remaining one of the key export categories.

"Today, around 1,700 dairy complexes with modern housing and milking conditions operate in the country. These facilities produce approximately 80% of all milk. We continue to develop this direction," noted Smilhin.

48 New MTCs and Over 500 Calf Rearing Facilities

In 2026, Belarus plans to build around 48 new MTCs, which will further strengthen the industry's production base. Simultaneously, a program is being implemented to transfer young cattle from outdoor housing to specialized facilities.

Before the start of the winter housing period (by November 1), authorities intend to fully relocate calves to rearing facilities. By the end of the year, the construction of over 500 rearing facilities with a total capacity of 95,100 livestock places is planned.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, this will allow:

• to reduce the mortality of young cattle,

• to increase productivity,

• to improve working conditions for personnel,

• to reduce veterinary risks.

Vaccines and Feed: No Shortage

Veterinary support in the sector remains stable, according to the agency. Vaccines produced in Belarus, as well as products from Russia and the EU, are available in sufficient quantities. All agricultural organizations have approved vaccination schedules, and no problems with the prevention of infectious diseases have been reported.

Feed reserves are also assessed as sufficient to pass the winter housing period. Special emphasis is placed on quality compound feeds for calves, with the necessary levels of protein and energy. Their production is ensured by national feed mills and BNBK.
