The first Efko applied research center (ARC) in the Middle East opened in Dubai. $3 million was invested in the project.
The Center combines an R&D center and a biotechnology laboratory. This allows for the simultaneous development of new formulations and full-fledged scientific research. Specialists will be able to expand the range of plant-based meat and milk, study the potential of using alternatives to sugar - sweet proteins - in various products.
Earlier, Efco decided to supply healthy sugar alternatives to UAE enterprises. Investments in the project at that time amounted to 1 billion rubles.
One gram of sweet protein is equal in sweetness to 2 kg of regular sugar. At the same time, it does not cause an insulin response in the blood, which is important for those suffering from diabetes.
