The total payment to suppliers for April will be 41.58 cents per liter, accounting for a weather payment of 1.5 cents per liter and a sustainability action payment of 0.5 cents per liter. This payment is applicable to all milk volumes supplied in April that meet quality criteria, including those under liquid milk, autumn calving, and fixed milk price schemes.

The company noted that the adjustments for weather payment and sustainability bonuses reflect the actual constituents of the milk delivered. For milk with higher fat and protein content, specifically 4.2% butterfat and 3.4% protein, the total price reaches 45.17 cents per liter.

John Murphy, Tirlán chairperson, commented on the current market conditions: "While dairy market returns are generally stable for most products, buyers remain cautious. Weather has significantly impacted our milk supply, with year-to-date volumes 9% lower than last year. Despite a recent recovery in milk supply as we approach peak production, grazing conditions continue to pose challenges."

Similarly, Dairygold announced it will maintain its base milk price at 40 cents per liter for April supplies. This includes a reduced weather/fodder relief payment of 1 cent per liter, down from 2 cents last month, reflecting ongoing adjustments to accommodate fluctuating market and environmental conditions. With these contributions, Dairygold’s attainable milk price for April is set at 41 cents per liter, resulting in an average farmgate milk price of 44.2 cents per liter, based on the milk solids achieved by its suppliers.
