Thousand Bales of Straw Distributed Amid Drought Crisis in Chihuahua

Supporting Farmers Amidst the Drought

The Municipal Government, through the Directorate of Rural Development, has implemented a crucial support initiative by distributing one thousand straw bales to assist dairy farmers and ranchers affected by an acute drought situation in Chihuahua. The support was made possible through a collaboration with the State Government's Secretariat of Rural Development, which subsidized the straw bales to 300 pesos per piece.

A Significant Effort to Provide Relief

The initiative aimed to alleviate the challenging circumstances facing producers due to insufficient rainfall. Last year, the Directorate distributed around 1,900 tons of feed varieties such as rolled maize, milled grains, and a 14% protein dairy concentrate. In addition to feed, brown sugar was also provided to benefit apiary producers.

Continuing Support for Agricultural Sectors

For the current year, a budget allocation of 9.4 million pesos has been designated for farmer support programs. These efforts indicate a continued commitment to supporting the agricultural communities amid environmental adversities.
