The European Union's livestock sector remains robust, with key countries holding the majority of its population, according to the European Commission's latest report. As of the end of 2023, the EU housed 133 million head of pigs, 74 million bovine animals, and 68 million sheep and goats. However, a significant proportion of this livestock is concentrated in just a few Member States.
