In a significant development for Hidalgo's dairy industry, the Liconsa milk collection center in Tizayuca has reached 80% completion, and another center in Tulancingo is 40% complete.
The Francisco I. Madero center already receives 2 million liters of milk monthly. Víctor Hugo Pérez Rojas, of Liconsa, emphasizes ongoing efforts to finalize these projects, with state government support facilitated by Agriculture Secretary Napoleón González.
The Tizayuca center requires additional tanks and technical components for full operational status, expected by next year. Nationally, Liconsa operates 54 collection centers, with plans for 14 new ones under President Claudia Sheinbaum's agenda, including expansions in Chihuahua and Jalisco.
Hidalgo, housing 400 dairies, could contribute 6 million liters monthly to local and neighboring regions once all centers are operational.
Currently, the local dairy sector is supported by 2,900 producers, with Liconsa milk recognized as top quality nationwide.
