Kerry Group Boosts Milk Price for February Deliveries

Kerry Group has announced a rise in its milk price for February, marking an increase to 40c/L from the previous 39.5c/L. The adjustment, inclusive of VAT, reflects a base price of 38c/L, supplemented by a milk contract payment of 2c/L on qualifying volumes.
For milk meeting EU standard constituents of 3.4% protein and 4.2% butterfat, the February price stands at 43.88c/L.
Taking into account Kerry's average milk solids for the month, the comprehensive return, inclusive of VAT and bonuses, reaches 45.35c/L. A spokesperson from Kerry Group highlighted cautious optimism among dairy buyers, emphasizing an upturn in global consumer demand which is expected to positively impact dairy markets.
The Lakeland Dairies Board has also disclosed its milk price for February, announcing a base price of 41.4c/L (3.6% butterfat and 3.3% protein) for deliveries in the Republic of Ireland. This figure reflects a 1.5c/L increase, inclusive of a new 0.5c/L Sustainability Incentive Payment. Additionally, the 1c/L Input Support Payment from January now forms part of the base price for February milk. All suppliers will receive a 2c/L early calving bonus, totaling a price of 43.40c/L. Qualifying farmers will further benefit from a 5c/L out-of-season payment.
In Northern Ireland, the base price for February milk stands at 34p/L, marking a 1.25p/L increase, including the new 0.5p/L Sustainability Incentive Payment.
