Kazakh Cheese Makers Win 6 Medals at the Mondial du Fromage World Championship

Kazakh producers achieved significant success at one of the largest international events in the cheese-making and dairy sector — the Mondial du Fromage et des Produits Laitiers 2025 World Championship, held from September 14-16 in Tours, France.

Special attention at the event was given to the "Best Cheese Maker in the World" contest, which included theoretical tasks, blind tastings, cutting tests, and the original presentation of a cheese platter based on a given theme.

For the second time in a row, the Mondial du Fromage hosted the international dairy products competition. This year's contest featured about 2,000 samples of cheese and dairy products, 30% more than in 2024.

Kazakhstan was represented by delegations fr om the Mangystau, Zhetisu, Karaganda, Akmola, West Kazakhstan, and Abai regions. As a result of the competition, the country won three gold, one silver, and two bronze medals.

The top awards went to the "Zhetilak" farm (Mangystau, 1 gold and 2 bronzes), cheese maker Ruslan Sokolov (Akmola region, gold), and camel milk cheese aged in kumis by Elvira Mukasheva (Akmola region), which won a gold medal.

The championship will culminate with the superfinal on September 16, wh ere the absolute winner will be determined.


The Mondial du Fromage is a key commercial event for cheese and dairy professionals, bringing together processors, equipment manufacturers, distributors, and retail representatives. In 2025, Tours is hosting the participants for the seventh time.
