On April 4, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Saparov held a meeting with the British Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Mrs. Cathy Leach. According to the head of the Kazakh department, the trade turnover of agricultural products between Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom by the end of 2023 amounted to 59 million dollars, which is 72% more than in 2022 (34.3 million dollars).

Aidarbek Saparov stressed that Kazakhstan has significant potential in the production and export of high-quality and environmentally friendly organic agricultural products.

The Kazakh business community is interested in expanding export opportunities to the UK, including products such as fish, fish products, aquaculture products, sturgeon caviar, meat and meat products, poultry meat, milk and dairy products, as well as dry camel and mare's milk (saumal).

Aidarbek Saparov also noted that the Ministry of Agriculture has received veterinary and sanitary requirements from the British side for certain types of animal products. Currently, the agency is actively working on the approval process for dairy products and horse meat. The form of a veterinary certificate for exported cattle seeds from the UK to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union has also been agreed.Work is underway to coordinate 5 more forms of the veterinary certificate.

Katie Leach confirmed her readiness to provide support in resolving the above-mentioned issues, as the UK is interested in developing cooperation with Kazakhstan, the press service noted.
