The downturn in export value is attributed to lower global commodity prices, particularly affecting products like skimmed milk powder (SMP) and casein. In terms of quantity, dairy exports rose to 173,000 tonnes in 2023-24, up from 156,000 tonnes in the preceding year, highlighting a significant increase in shipped volumes amidst declining market prices.
