The expansion will see the addition of 32,500 square feet to the existing 448,185-square-foot facility located in the Genesee Valley Agri-Business Park. This expansion is projected to boost the plant's capacity by 10%, equating to an additional 20 million gallons of dairy products annually. With this expansion, HP Hood's total output is expected to reach nearly 150 million gallons per year.

Genesee County Economic Development Center President and CEO, Steve Hyde, praised the decision, highlighting the region's reputation as a dairy hub in the northeast. He emphasized the role of the local workforce, farming families, and strategic location in contributing to the success of the Genesee Valley Agri-Business Park.

The expansion project will include the installation of an automatic storage and retrieval system (ASRS) refrigerated warehouse, as well as the implementation of new batching and processing systems. These upgrades will enable HP Hood to ramp up production capacity and introduce a new production line.

Hyde expressed optimism about the impact of HP Hood's expansion on the community and the agricultural sector, citing it as another testament to the growth potential of the Genesee Valley Agri-Business Park.
