Lithuanian farmers will protest in January due to the authorities' indifference to their problems
“The crisis situation in the agricultural sector has been going on for three years. The minister is inactive. The critical point has been passed. Lithuanian agriculture faces a question of survival,” he said.
Farmers demand respect for private property. There have been cases when the authorities alienated their land due to the uncoordinated expansion of protected areas. Another set of problems is the protracted crisis in the dairy sector, as well as the difficult situation with the cultivation of perennial meadows.
On January 8, farmers intend to arrive in the capital with agricultural equipment and light fires. Hofmanas did not specify what form the protest action would take in the future.
