The company has confirmed a weather/fodder relief payment of 2c/litre, maintaining the March quoted milk price at 40c/litre. Furthermore, Dairygold will pay an early calving bonus of 1c/litre on milk supplied in March.

With these additions, the attainable Dairygold milk price for March reaches 43c/litre, encompassing both the weather/fodder relief payment and the early calving bonus. This equates to an average farm gate milk price of 46.6c/litre, based on the average March 2024 milk solids achieved by Dairygold milk suppliers.

Considering EU standard constituents of 3.4% protein and 4.2% butterfat, the quoted milk price for March stands at 45.7c/litre, inclusive of the early calving bonus and relief payment.

A Dairygold spokesperson emphasized the company's commitment to supporting suppliers in the face of significant challenges posed by adverse weather conditions. They noted Dairygold's dedication to offering a strong milk price for March, particularly with the inclusion of a relief payment for March milk only.

Amidst ongoing uncertainties in dairy markets, exacerbated by weaker demand, especially in China, the Dairygold board remains vigilant. They will continue to closely monitor market dynamics and review milk prices on a monthly basis to ensure the best possible outcomes for farmers.
