Dairy Alliance highlights school milk initiatives during National Dairy Month
The Dairy Alliance is using this month to spotlight several initiatives aimed at getting milk into schools and making it readily available to students. One such program, Moo Brew, provides iced coffee to schools. Additionally, the Dairy Alliance supplies milk dispensers to reduce waste and offers High School Sports Nutrition resources. These resources, developed by board-certified sports dietitians, align with the National Federation of State High School Associations' position statements, ensuring proper nutrition for high school athletes.
National Dairy Month, which began as "National Milk Month" in 1937 to help distribute surplus milk during the summer, officially became Dairy Month in 1939. The Dairy Alliance's efforts during this month aim to enhance milk accessibility in schools and promote the nutritional benefits of dairy products.
