Cooleche Opens New Plant with Over $14 Million Investment

Boquerón's New Advanced Facility
The Cooperativa de Productores de Leche, known as Cooleche, has officially opened a new food processing plant for concentrated animal feed in Boquerón, Chiriquí, with an investment of over $14 million, according to official sources.
Government's Endorsement
"This new facility will enhance the sector's productivity and competitiveness through cutting-edge technology and optimized processes," stated Roberto Linares, the Minister of Agricultural Development.
Cooleche's Impact
The processing plant and a solar park, which supplies electrical energy, are a part of the Cooleche agro-industrial park. Cooleche is a cooperative uniting 500 associated producers, comprising nearly 70% of Panama's grade A milk production.
Economic Importance
The Minister of Trade and Industry, Julio Moltó, emphasized, “Dairy production supports over 270,000 Panamanians and serves as a cornerstone of our agro-industry. Each liter of milk produced is a testament to the dedication and investment of those committed to this sector.”
Future Prospects
The Panamanian government regards the Cooleche complex as a world-class project that will improve the quality of its animal feed. The application of first-world technology promises better farm yields and the production of export-quality milk.
Commitment to National Production
Moltó reiterated the government's pledge to protect Panama's dairy production and maintain high quality standards. He argued for fair trade conditions that respect the nation's sanitary and quality regulations, assuring continuing efforts to protect public health and food security.
