Chesapeake Utilities Corporation (NYSE: CPK) officially launched its renewable natural gas (RNG) facility at Full Circle Dairy (FCD) in Lee, Florida, with a ribbon-cutting event held on October 28. Representing a $22 million investment, this facility transforms dairy manure into pipeline-quality RNG, aiming to produce an annual average of 100,000 dekatherms. Operational since June 2024, the facility captures and repurposes over 1,100 metric tons of methane per year—equivalent to powering 3,500 homes annually.

"This RNG facility highlights our capability to extend our expertise across the entire energy supply chain, from production to distribution," stated Jeff Householder, board chair, president, and CEO of Chesapeake Utilities. "We are proud to support both sustainable energy solutions and community advancement through projects like this.”

The facility, constructed and operated by Chesapeake Utilities’ subsidiary FPU Renewables LLC, has already generated and injected over 18,000 dekatherms of RNG since its startup. Transported by Marlin Gas Services, another Chesapeake subsidiary, the RNG is moved via a virtual pipeline to Yulee, Florida, for distribution to customers in Nassau County. This innovative approach underscores Chesapeake Utilities’ ongoing commitment to renewable energy and community-focused investment.
