The Association of Young Farmers of France promised to block the roads to Paris on January 29

“We want to ensure that not a single truck can get into the capital, ” Buizard said on BFMTV. “ This will continue as long as necessary, but not less than five days.” He clarified that farmers will begin active measures to block roads on the night of Monday, January 29.
In turn, the general secretary of this trade union center, Pierrick Aurel, noted on the RMC radio station that the Young Farmers are suspending the blockade for the weekend, but will resume protests in full force from the beginning of the week. “We need to rest, and this afternoon (January 27 - TASS note) we will stop the blockade, but next week we will resume the protest,” Orel said. According to him, during this pause, members of the association will “develop a protest strategy for the next week.”
Earlier, French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal announced a series of measures to simplify bureaucratic procedures and protect agricultural workers in the republic in response to previously voiced demands of trade unions. The next three weeks, he said, will be a “month of simplification” of bureaucratic procedures. Among other things, Attal mentioned one of the main demands of farmers - a refusal to increase fuel prices for special equipment.
Mass demonstrations of farmers are taking place in France amid dissatisfaction among industry workers with falling incomes due to inflation and expanding imports of agricultural products into France from Ukraine. Farmers also advocate simplification of bureaucratic procedures related to EU requirements and less stringent regulation of agriculture. Farmers use tractors to block roads and hold demonstrations in front of government buildings. According to the National Federation of Farmers' Unions (FNSEA), as of Friday evening, 72 thousand farmers took part in the protests, who took to the roads in 85 of 96 departments with 41 thousand tractors.
