Arrabawn Announces Increase in Milk Price for February Supplies
Effective Wednesday, March 20, Arrabawn's board has sanctioned a 1-cent-per-liter rise in the price paid to members for milk supplied in February. This increment follows a similar 1-cent-per-liter increase announced for January supplies, demonstrating the company's commitment to bolstering returns for its suppliers.

In addition to the base price hike, Arrabawn is offering a winter bonus of 3 cents per liter on February milk supplies, further enhancing the remuneration received by its members.

Meanwhile, Carberry, in its recent price announcement, has raised its base price by 2 cents per liter, alongside continued support for milk prices from its Stability Fund, contributing 1.5 cents per liter.

Should this decision be echoed by the four west Cork co-ops – Bandon, Barryroe, Drinagh, and Lisavaird – it would lead to an average price of 41.67 cents per liter for the month.

This February milk price, inclusive of VAT, incorporates additional bonuses such as a 0.5-cent-per-liter Somatic Cell Count (SCC) bonus, the FutureProof sustainability bonus, and Stability Fund support.

Commenting on the market dynamics, a Carbery spokesperson remarked, "As dairy markets continue to find equilibrium after the volatility witnessed in 2024, prices are expected to stabilize. Our milk price adjustments reflect this trend, and we remain vigilant in monitoring market conditions, aiming for sustained recovery and stabilization."
