Yeremyan Projects celebrated the grand opening of its new state-of-the-art milk processing facility, Yeremyan Products, in Yerevan on May 24.
The expansive site encompasses 2 hectares, featuring 2,500 square meters dedicated to warehouse space, 1,000 square meters for refrigeration systems, and 6,000 square meters allocated to milk production, laboratories, and an R&D center. This facility is equipped to process up to 150,000 liters of milk daily.
The plant's construction marks the culmination of a significant investment initiative launched in 2022, in collaboration with the Armenian Government, the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), and Yeremyan Farm. This strategic partnership aimed to bolster food security and foster sustainable economic growth within Armenia's agro-industry sector. A key component of this initiative was the establishment of a unique livestock complex in the Tashir community, which commenced operations in October 2023.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by notable figures including Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan, and Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan, alongside Denis Ilyin, Senior Managing Director at the EDB. Minister Papoyan emphasized the plant's alignment with international standards and its significance for both domestic quality enhancement and export potential. "This factory is set to produce high-standard, safe products, vital for our citizens and instrumental in expanding our export capabilities," Papoyan stated.
Denis Ilyin reflected on the project's scope, describing it as a beacon of successful collaboration from conceptualization through to execution. "This is not just a single project but a series of integrated initiatives that Yeremyan Projects has expertly managed. Today, we inaugurate a facility that will significantly augment the supply of in-demand, high-quality dairy products in the Armenian market," Ilyin explained.
During the tour, guests were introduced to the plant's advanced technical equipment and operational methodologies. Yeremyan Projects General Director, Davit Yeremyan, highlighted the facility’s adherence to ISO standards and its role in pioneering modern animal husbandry and dairy production in Armenia. "Our plant not only ensures the highest quality production but also features an R&D center for ongoing innovation and product development," Yeremyan added, expressing his gratitude towards all stakeholders involved.
The facility boasts 70 separate departments, each rigorously controlled to maintain sterile conditions, facilitated by a centralized ventilation system that sterilizes the air throughout the production spaces. Employee welfare is also a priority, with provisions including a canteen, a designated smoking area, and a medical station.
Looking forward, Yeremyan Products plans to expand its dairy offerings significantly, introducing 50 new products, including a variety of European cheeses tailored to local tastes. This development is part of Yeremyan Projects' broader commitment to enhancing Armenia's dairy industry through innovative practices and sustainable growth.
